So, it has been a while since I had a 'My Journey' post. Almost a year. A lot has changed in a year.
My last doctor's appointment was July 2014 "I had my yearly doctor appointment yesterday. I told him about all of the changes I've made to improve my life and health: removing dairy/wheat, changing deodorant to a non aluminum kind, underwire less bra, increased water intake, still not smoking, vitamins, oils, really being in tune with my body. He was so proud of me. I've lost some weight - my BP was great. I'm going off the pill - not to get pregnant but to help with my headaches. It was my choice. He said that he was going to take me of them when I turned 35 anyway - so I am just getting a head start. He said more of his patient should be more like me

Today I am 33 years old. I'll be 34 in June. My childbearing days are coming to an end, in a hurry.
I have been dairy free & gluten free for about a year. I am about 95% plant based now. I rarely eat meat, but sometimes eat eggs. I'm aiming for no meat at all. I've been doing yoga for a little over a month. I love it. I've been intrigued with yoga & meditation but I've never tried it.. until now.
I am off of birth control & I started taking Vitex. Info on Vitex At my last doctor's appointment I told him I didn't want to be on BC (birth control) any longer. It made me feel so weird. If you don't need it you shouldn't be on it. BIRTH CONTROL WILL NOT FIX YOUR HORMONES. It is a bandage. He said he was proud of me for making that choice because he was going to take me off of them anyway - since I'm so close to 35 (when you normally are taken off of birth control).
I hardly ever have headaches!! This is such an amazing and awesome statement. You have no idea!! I was having headaches & migraines so much it was more normal than not. Going gluten free has helped with this. I tell everyone if you suffer from headaches, migraines & joint pain to give up the gluten. It has improved my life so much.
Being dairy free has certainly helped my stomach issues. No more diarrhea, less gas, less bloating & more.
Dairy & wheat flour are found in so many places. Even medicines. So, if you're going gf (gluten free) or df (dairy free) watch out for it hiding in all places.
I still have abdominal/pelvic cramps - but that is something that I think will always be there.
I tried to stick with the Woman Code by Alisa Vitti. I stuck with the diet for a while but I is very very restricting. There is so much great information in the book. I really recommend you reading it if you have 'women' issues like PCOS, unbalanced hormones or just want to know how the female body works.
So, my physical health is looking good. But my mental health has really gone down. I am in the process of looking for a counselor or therapist.
I recently found out that most women with a bicornuate uterus only have one kidney! What?! I had no idea. I wonder if I only have one kidney?
Also, I've been doing some research and PCOS is now commonly diagnosed as an autoimmune disease.
My next doctor's appointment is in a few months.
If you're interested in learning more about PCOS, Bicornuate/Septate Uterus or a tilted uterus, just go to Google & search. There are so many informative doctor/nurse led websites with great information.
